It just goes to show how wary we’re being on human destruction to nature, or just being destructive in general. Futures that show such scenes are brought in by non-humans or out-of-this-world beings are of course excluded from this explanation, I suppose.
There’s also the view that maybe these are the future/sci-fi things that are popular years ago then recently, since, you know, there could be futuristic ruins way back, and nice clean future things these days. Diversity stuff, you know.

Some Basics on Color Dodge
I was asked how I did the glow-y figures on this piece, and the answer is COLOR DOOOOOODGE. My knowledge about it really did just come from a tutorial I followed yeeeeears ago, and since then, I’ve just been playing around with it to get random light and glows.
